Who is Wundt?
Wilhelm Wundt established the first Psychology Laboratory in Leipzig, Germany in 1879, which is now currently identified as the Birth of Psychology. He suggested for the first time in history that human nature, including the human mind could be studied scientifically. He paved a way for Psychology to be a separate discipline and science in it's own right.
What is Introspection?
Wundt and his colleagues were using the process of introspection to attempt to investigate the mind. Introspection is the process of examining one's own mental activity and breaking down conscious awareness into basic structures of thoughts and sensations. Structuralism is when you isolate the structure of consciousness in this way.
